Adult Sunday School
Cornerstone Class: This class is led by George Snead, PC(USA) lay pastor, and facilitated by class members. We start off with a wonderful round of singing followed by sharing and then a great lesson from The Present Word curriculum. The Present Word seeks to understand the Bible in relation to life experiences and a greater awareness of God’s self-disclosure.

Pioneer Class: We read and discuss the Gospel for the week and how we can apply it to our daily lives. This is a great time for us to prepare for worship. We really enjoy rich conversation from everyone when we enter the Word and look forward to hearing how God is revealed to us in that scripture in worship. This class is facilitated by Kimberly Wynns and Jon Wenge.

Parenting in Faith Class: “My momma told me there’d be days like this!” Parenting children can be the most hair-raising, exasperating, hilarious, roller coaster blessing you may ever receive in your life. We have been given some essential examples of family life in the Bible. This class seeks to tap into those important lessons as we create a faith community of support for each other. We will be basing our time together discussing articles from the magazine, Christianity Today. Beginning topics include: Make God Real to Your Children, Make Church a Positive Experience for Kids, Teach Children to Pray, Raising Counter-Cultural Teenagers, Fear Factors in Parenting, and Friendships that Benefit Parenting. This class will be facilitated by Janet Stark, Director of Christian Education, with the assistance of Charmane Dail and Kimberly Wynns.

Adult Midweek Bible Studies
Abbotswood Bible Study: The Abbotswood Bible Study meets monthly from September through May using the annual Horizons Bible Study for Presbyterian Women. The study focuses on a different book of the Bible each year. This group is led by Candy Tedrick.

Faith and Film: The Bible has had amazing impact on Western history and culture. This group seeks to find those connections and revelations in film. We meet the last Thursday of every month for movie viewing, supper fellowship, and theological reflection. This group is facilitated by Janet Stark and group members.

Fellowship with Books: This book club offers adults a chance to discuss, reflect, and connect to popular literature in the context of a people of faith. We meet once a month on the third Tuesday. This group is facilitated by Janet Livengood.

Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast: Meets on Friday mornings at 7:15 a.m. in the Faith Ministries Building for fellowship and to discuss this week’s Gospel reading. Breakfast is provided. This group is facilitated by Bryan Wynns.

Older Adult Bible Study: We meet the second and fourth Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. of each month in the Faith Ministries Building. We enjoy studying books of the Bible and fellowship together. New members are always welcome. One third Wednesdays we get together for lunch or coffee fellowship. Our Bible Study is led by Helen McBryde.

Seasonal Studies
Advent and Lenten Series: North Raleigh Presbyterian provides opportunities for adults to engage in special times of spiritual reflection and growth through Thursday evening Advent and Lent series beginning at 7:00 p.m. Christian Education and Member Care work together to provide these sacred spaces during these special times of our liturgical calendar. Leaders are Pastor Ted Churn and Director of Education, Janet Stark.
